FabTrol MRP Version 3.0 General Release

Version 3.0 marks the fifth major upgrade to FabTrol MRP. This general release is loaded with new features and functionality. In addition to feature enhancements throughout, this release provides new data integration tools, material and project management tools, and more.

Powerful new tools for steel fabricators

Among the many new features and added functionality in Version 3.0 are:

Electronic Steel Inquiry - XML export containing material and nesting requirements that can be emailed and imported into popular software used in service centers to expedite material inquiries. Learn more »
CNC Data Distribution - One-click XML export of routing, nesting, and CNC data for a production batch that can be imported into software used by popular CNC machine manufacturers. Learn more »
Automatically Record Part Status - Automatically update part status in real-time from CNC machine software and display status in the 3D model with FabTrol MRP’s augmented ADC technology. Learn more »
RFI Management - Track project questions and responses through to resolution and quickly identify any outstanding issues. Watch RFI video »

Feature enhancements and improvements

Version 3.0 also delivers a number of prominent feature enhancements as well as fixes for various reported issues. Some highlights include:

Improved creation of PDF files - A new driver for creating Portlable Document Format (PDF) files is included during the client installation process that improves the generation of reports in the PDF file format.
Import site bolts - A new drawing preference enables site bolts to be imported from bolt lists created in Tekla Structures or SDS/2 detailing software.
Naming conventions for imperial nuts, bolts, and washers - A new Drawing Preference takes advantage of updated naming conventions that eliminate the need to do multiple profile translations when importing imperial bolts, nuts, and washers from Tekla Structures and SDS/2 bolt lists.
Copy contacts in the Address Book - A copy feature has been added to the Address Book that copies all of the contact information for the selected contact to a new record and makes it easier to create contacts in new categories.
New Validation Log filter options - New filtering options in the Drawing Import Wizard make it easier to view subsets of the messages when troubleshooting imports.
