New in FabTrol MRP: Automatically update part status in real time and display in 3D model with FabTrol MRP’s augmented ADC technology

EUGENE, OR - With its release of FabTrol MRP Version 3.0, FabTrol Systems adds automated, real-time production progress tracking of parts and assemblies to the Advanced Production modules of its integrated steel fabrication software solution.

FabTrol MRP has long been able to deliver DSTV files to the shop floor, track part and assembly status with barcoding, and deliver the status of parts and assemblies for viewing in a 3D model. Now, by combining the software’s newly augmented automatic data capture (ADC) capability with its XML export of batching, routing, and CNC data, FabTrol MRP users can benefit from real-time, automatic part status updates based on electronic feedback from the CNC controller.

Now FabTrol MRP’s integrated system seamlessly:

Imports 3D model data into FabTrol MRP, including the bill of material, part and assembly drawings, and CNC data.
Nests parts into stock to match the production plan using FabTrol MRP’s advanced material optimization engine.
Automatically routes parts and assemblies in a production batch -- Packages the above information into a single XML export that communicates production batch information to the shop floor, including part routing and a matching cutting plan.
Places the CNC data for the batch in the correct network location for each machine involved in the part processing.

After processing a part, the CNC controller reports the part status back to FabTrol MRP using the augmented ADC capability. Users can also review and manage these transactions in the Data Capture Transaction window, as well as readily package the data for display in popular 3D modeling software.

While fabricators using FabTrol MRP’s Advanced Production modules can continue to update status by batch using a barcode scanner in non-CNC work areas, many will appreciate this recently added real-time production progress tracking at the part level. For fabricators interested in taking advantage of an integrated system to manage materials and production, FabTrol MRP will now maximize an investment in ADC and CNC technologies by serving as the integrating data hub between material and production management, ADC and CNC technologies, and the BIM capabilities of 3D modeling software.
